Installing the Optional Flow Bypass Kit
The bypass kit can be directly plumbed into the system and must be installed so that the loop is
facing upward as shown below. This orientation prevents hazardous gas buildup in the system
should the flow switch fail to detect sufficient flow.
l The direction of the water flow through the bypass must be as indicated for the system to operate.
l For a pool/spa combination, the manifold must be located as the last component in the pool return line to
avoid over-sanitization of the spa.
l If the flow rate for the system is less than 20 gpm (76 L/min), a larger pump must be installed (or steps
taken to improve flow rate).
l For a two-speed or a variable speed pump, ensure the pump can provide sufficient flow at the low speed.
