Routing Issues
I/O Setup Output tab gets into incorrect state. (PT-266962)
It is possible for the Output tab of I/O Setup to appear in an incorrect state after using either the Default or Restore from Session com-
mands, when the previous session had no
Main Monitor (MON L-R) assignment and Headphone Mirroring was enabled. If this occurs, go
to
Setup > Hardware Setup and disable all Headphone Mirroring, then return to Setup > I/O > Output, select all paths, click Delete, and
then click
Default.
Mute all speakers before disabling Alt monitors in the Hardware Setup. (PT-266903)
While playing back or monitoring live input, disabling Alt 1 and Alt 2 monitoring in the Hardware Setup can result in full volume (un-
attenuated) audio output until the
OK button is clicked to close the Hardware Setup. Before disabling any monitor set in the Hardware
Setup, ensure that audio is not currently playing to the associated line outputs (
Alt 1 or Alt 2) or MON L-R outputs (Main) or that speakers
are not attached to these outputs.
Input monitoring can remain in effect after recording in DSP Mode. (PT-266766)
After recording in DSP Mode with Count Off engaged, and while the Mute Record-Armed Tracks While Stopped preference is enabled,
it is possible for the input signal to still be audible (though at lesser volume). If this occurs, toggle tracks out and then back in to DSP
Mode.
Audition Path deactivated under certain conditions. (PT-266762)
It is possible for the Audition Path assigned to MON L-R to become deactivated under certain conditions, such as re-opening the Hard-
ware Setup or Playback Engine while the system is out of resources. To correct this, assign the Audition Path to any output except
MON
L–R
. After applying this workaround, the Audition Path remains active while the first track in the session will be inactivated due to in-
sufficient resources.
Enabling DSP Mode on a frozen track that had only Native plug-ins unnecessarily displays “Native plug-ins have been
bypassed” message. (PT-266753)
After freezing a track with Native-only plug-ins and then activating DSP mode on that frozen track, it is possible for Pro Tools to in-
correctly display the “Native-only plug-ins have been bypassed” message. Click
OK to dismiss the message (you can also select Don’t
show this again
).
A hardware insert is disabled in the inserts list (I/O Setup), or removed from the insert slot of a track after restoring the saved
I/O paths from the session. (PT-266606 and PT-266604)
It is possible that after having restored the saved I/O paths from a session using the Restore from Session button in I/O Setup, a hardware
insert will be disabled (unchecked) in the hardware inserts list (
Insert tab in the I/O Setup dialog) or be removed from the insert slot
where it had been previously instantiated. If this occurs, re-enable (check) or if necessary re-instantiate the insert.
Not all plug-ins are fully supported in DSP Mode. (PT-266587)
Some AAX plug-ins, including Avid Space and Nugen VisLM, are incompatible with DSP Mode and are only available with
Pro Tools | Carbon in Native Mode. These plug-ins will be bypassed on tracks in DSP Mode.
Inserting multiple instances of certain plug-ins on tracks in DSP mode can result in AAE errors. (PT-266109)
You may encounter AAE errors after trying to insert three or more instances of certain plug-ins (such as Avid Fairchild 670, Avid Im-
pact, and Avid Revibe II) on a track in DSP Mode.
Bus-record MIDI to audio offset. (PT-266108)
When bus-recording MIDI controlled audio to an audio track, it is possible that the recorded audio file will be slightly offset from the
MIDI data.
I/O Setup Default Format only allows mono or stereo. (PT-265540)
When stereo monitor paths are enabled (such as when using Pro Tools | Carbon), the Default Format can only be set to a mono or stereo
path. Attempting to assign a greater-than-stereo path is ignored.
