What to do if my Axis 240Q Server is accessible locally but not externally?
    • K
      kathryn13Aug 21, 2025
If your AXIS 240Q server is accessible locally but not externally, check the Internet firewall with your system administrator. Also, check if you need to configure the default router settings. The Internet site may be too heavily loaded, so use a script on your web server to relay images from the AXIS 240Q to the Internet.

What to do if I cannot access the AXIS 240Q Server from a Web browser?
    • V
      valdezdanielAug 23, 2025
If you cannot access the AXIS 240Q from a Web browser, it may be because the IP address has been changed by DHCP. You can: 1) Move the AXIS 240Q to an isolated network or to one with no DHCP or BOOTP server and set the IP address again, using the ARP Ping command. 2) Access the unit and disable BOOTP and DHCP in the TCP/IP settings then return the unit to the main network, so the unit now has a fixed IP address that will not change. 3) As an alternative to 2), if dynamic IP address via DHCP or BOOTP is required, select the required service and then configure IP address change notification from the network settings and return the unit to the main network, so the unit will now have a dynamic IP address, but will notify you if the address changes.

How to fix Axis Server when no images are displayed in the Web interface?
    • P
      pkingAug 26, 2025
If no images are displayed in the Web interface of your Axis Server, and you are using Internet Explorer, set your Web browser to allow ActiveX controls. Also, make sure that AXIS Media Control (AMC) component is installed on your workstation. If installation of additional ActiveX component restricted or prohibited, configure your AXIS 240Q to use a Java applet for updating the images under Live View Config > Layout > Default Viewer for Internet Explorer.

What does it mean if the Status indicator on my Axis Server is flashing red and the server is inaccessible?
    • T
      tiffany85Aug 27, 2025
If the Status indicator is flashing red and the server is inaccessible, a rescue firmware is running in the product, because a firmware upgrade has been interrupted or the firmware has been damaged in some other way. First, set the IP address using AXIS IP utility or ARP and Ping. Then, using a browser, access the unit and download the latest firmware to the product.

How to fix bad snapshot images on Axis Server?
    • M
      Michael GibbsAug 30, 2025
If you have bad snapshot images, in Display Properties, configure your display to show at least 65000 colors, i.e. at least 16-bit. Using only 16 or 256 colors on your display will produce dithering artifacts in the image.

      Donna CarrSep 1, 2025
Incorrect exposure in images from your Axis Server can be caused by incorrect line termination. If the AXIS 240Q is to be connected in loop through with other equipment, disable the input termination by turning the corresponding DIP switch to OFF.

Why I cannot send notifications, uploads, alarms, etc, to a destination outside the local network from my Axis 240Q?
    • M
      Michelle HallSep 3, 2025
If you cannot send notifications, uploads, alarms, etc, to a destination outside the local network, it may be due to firewall protection. The video server can be configured to use a SOCKS server to reach networks on the other side of a firewall/proxy server.
