Gatekeeper

TheGatekeepermonitorsanareasuchasanentrancegate.Whenmotionisdetectedinthemonitoredarea,theGatekeeperwillsteer

thecameratoaselectedpresetposition.Usingazoomed-inpresetpositioncanmakeitpossibleto,forexample,readalicenseplate

oridentifyaperson.Whenmotionisnolongerdetected,thecamerareturnstoitsHomepositionafteradenedtime.

ToenabletheGatekeeper,gotoPTZ>Gatekeeperandfollowtheonlineinstructions.

Itisalsopossibleto,forexample,recordvideoorsaveimages(takeasnapshot)whiletheGatekeeperisactive.GotoEvents

andsetupanactionrulewithPTZPresetReachedastrigger.

AdvancedPTZsettingscanbeconguredunderPTZ>Advanced>Controls.

ThePanelShortcutCommandButtonslistshowstheuser-denedbuttonsthatcanbeaccessedfromtheLiveViewpage’sCtrl

panel.ThesebuttonscanbeusedtoprovidedirectaccesstocommandsissuedusingtheVAPIX®applicationprogramminginterface.

ClickAddtoaddanewshortcutcommandbutton.

ThefollowingPTZcontrolsareenabledbydefault:

•Pancontrol

•Tiltcontrol

•Zoomcontrol

•Focuscontrol

Todisablespeciccontrols,deselecttheoptionsunderEnable/Disablecontrols.

Note

DisablingPTZcontrolswillnotaffectpresetpositions.Forexample,ifthetiltcontrolisdisabled,theproductcanstillmoveto

presetpositionsthatrequireatiltmovement.

ControlQueue

Note

•TheadministratorcanenableanddisablePTZcontrolsforselectedusers.

•Toidentifydifferentusersintheviewergroup,cookiesmustbeenabledontheclient.

•TheControlqueuepolltimeismeasuredinseconds.Formoreinformationseetheonlinehelp

TheadministratorcansetupaqueueforPTZcontrollersfromPTZ>ControlQueue.Oncesetup,thePTZControlQueuebuttons

appearintheLiveViewpageofferingoneviewerexclusivecontrolforalimitedperiodoftime.Otheruserswillbeplacedinqueue.

Auserwhobelongstoagroup(seeUsersonpage45)withahigherPTZprioritycangobeforeotherusersinthequeueandtake

controloftheproduct.Theorderofpriorityisasfollows:

1.Administrator—AnadministratortakesoverPTZcontrolregardlessofwhoisrstinqueue.Theadministratorwillbe

removedfromthequeue60secondsafterthelastPTZcontrolcommand.

2.Event—TheAxisproductcanbeconguredtogotoapresetpositionwhentriggeredbyanalarm(seeEventsonpage37).

Theeventwillimmediatelybeplacedrstinthequeueexceptwhenanadministratorisincontrol.

3.Operator—Sameasadministratorbutwithlowerpriority
