8. Maintenance & checking
Daily maintenance items are:
1) Checking of operating pressure:
[ ] MPa
(set pressure of Filter-Regulator)
2) Checking of quantities of oil drips:
[ ] drips/min.
3) Checking of oil consumption:
[ ] cm
3
/h (or cm
3
/day)
4) Checking of manifold pressure:
[ ] MPa
5) Checking of operation of automatic drain valve of filter or Filter-Regulator unit.
6) Checking of oil level in the reservoir.
7) Drain the remaining oil in fog selection bowl, if oil level exceeded 1cm from bottom of the bowl,
by increasing manifold pressure (if draining impossible, clean or replace condensing fitting
and screen of return tube).
Periodical inspection & maintenance
1) Cleaning and/or replacement of filter element, bowl and automatic drain valve of air filter.
2) Replacing venturi nozzle, if damaged.
3) Expelling the deteriorated oil in the reservoir, and replacing oil shot pump if damaged.
4) Checking air leaks of the piping
5) Checking of damage piping
6) Check whether Fog-nozzles are choked up or not
7) Removal of oil drain accumulated in the bearings housing.
Checks and Processing of Oil Drain
If the oil amount is properly supplied, the great portion of Micron-fog supplied to each lubricated
element is consumed for lubrication. However, according as utilization of the unit becomes long
years, oil will collect gradually in the bearings housing etc.
Preparing oil drainage port in the lowest part of bearings housing is recommended to enables to
discharge such collected oil quickly. However, if there prepared a vent hole, which can be
utilized as drainage, preparing others for drainage is not needed. However, in case the tubing is
attached to the vent hole, take care not to clog up the tube with oil dirt.
9. Some Questions in use of MC9 units
1) No oil drips after the pump operation starts
Air bubbles that entered in pump, or in oil tube between pump inlet and tube end immersed in
reservoir mainly cause it.
Followings may cope with above problem.
(1) Confirm oil amount is at near the upper level in the reservoir.
(2) Turn by-pass adjustment screw clockwise to close fully, and set operating pressure at
0.3MPa.
(3) Actuate the pump repeatedly in above condition at a rate of once a second.
(4) There may be visible of oil rising in the tube in response to pump action. Repeat the pump
action until constant oil dripping is confirmed.
2) Others:
There would be no oil dripping in case of jamming of solid contaminants into pump mechanism
inside the pump or in case of damage of plunger tip seal. In this case, replace pump assembly
with new one or disassemble the pump to clean and to inspect inside pump.
Before disassembling the pump, shut off air supply and release air
pressure to zero, and shut off electricity to the MC9 unit.
