This document describes the BELIMO LMC series of damper actuators, specifically the LMC24, LMC24-S, LMC230, LMC230-S, and LMC24-SR models, designed for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems. These actuators are intended for the operation of air control dampers and feature a fast running time.
Function Description
The LMC series actuators are used to control air dampers in HVAC systems. They offer various control modes depending on the model:
- LMC24, LMC24-S, LMC230, LMC230-S (Open/Close Actuators): These models provide Open/Close control via a single-wire or 2-wire system. The LMC24 and LMC24-S operate on AC/DC 24 V, while the LMC230 and LMC230-S operate on AC 230 V. They are designed for simple on/off control of dampers.
- LMC24-SR (Modulating Damper Actuator): This model offers modulating control using a standard DC 0...10 V signal. It runs to the position specified by the control signal and provides a DC 2...10 V position feedback signal (U) for electrical indication of the damper position or as a master-slave control signal for other actuators. The LMC24-SR operates on AC/DC 24 V.
All models feature a simple direct mounting mechanism on the damper spindle using a universal spindle clamp. An anti-rotation device is supplied to prevent unwanted rotation of the entire unit.

Usage Features
- Simple Direct Mounting: The actuators are designed for easy installation directly onto the damper spindle using a universal spindle clamp. An anti-rotation device is included to prevent unwanted rotation.
- Manual Operation: All models feature a self-resetting pushbutton for manual operation. When the pushbutton is held depressed, the gearing is disengaged, allowing for manual positioning of the damper.
- Adjustable Angle of Rotation: The angle of rotation can be adjusted using mechanical stops (LMC24, LMC24-S, LMC230, LMC230-S) or an integral potentiometer (LMC24-SR).
- High Functional Reliability: The actuators are overload-proof, meaning they do not require limit switches and automatically halt at the end stops.
- Flexible Signalling (LMC-S models): The LMC24-S and LMC230-S models include an adjustable auxiliary switch (potential-free) that can be set to operate at any point within the 0...100% rotation range.
- Modulating Control (LMC24-SR): The LMC24-SR offers steplessly adjustable angle of rotation and automatic range matching of the working range and measuring signal.
- Direction of Rotation Reversible: The direction of rotation can be selected using an L/R switch.
- Parallel Connection: Multiple actuators can be connected in parallel, with power consumption considerations for Open/Close models and synchronism tolerance for modulating models.
- Control Manufacturers (LMC24-SR): The LMC24-SR is compatible with control signals from various manufacturers, including ABB, AEG, Bälz, Centra, Controlli, Danfoss, Honeywell, Johnson, Siemens, and others.
Maintenance Features
- Maintenance-Free: All LMC series damper actuators are designed to be maintenance-free, reducing the need for regular servicing.
Important Notes for Usage:
- It is crucial to read the notes regarding the use and torque requirements of the damper actuators on page 2 of the manual.
- When calculating the required torque for dampers, all data from the damper manufacturer (cross-sectional area, design, mounting, and airflow conditions) must be considered.
- For the LMC230 and LMC230-S models, the system must incorporate a device that disconnects the phase conductors (with at least a 3 mm contact gap) to isolate from the main power supply.
