OPERATION
OPERATING COMPONENTS
Insert the two extensions (1) and socket (2) through
hole on bumper to remove bolt from actuator
bracket (3) as shown in illustration below.
After removing the actuator bracket bolts, lift the
bonnet until it is only held by the strap (4). This will
be approximately 60º. At this point the bonnet is
over-centre.
To ensure the bonnet does not close on the person
performing the actuator swop, it is required that the
cab stay lever (5) is utilised as shown in the picture.
Basically, the stay lever (5) will locate on the
chassis (6) and through the bonnet acting as a
strut. This can be locked in place on the bonnet
side for additional safety.
Now perform the actuator swop.
Fasten the new actuator (6) to the bonnet side only,
then fully extend the shaft (can be done
electronically).
After swopping the actuator and connecting it back
onto the bonnet frame ensure that the bracket is
fastened back onto the chassis.
Now remove the stay lever, then lower the bonnet
approximately 5º so the actuator can be mounted to
the bracket on the chassis (3).
