9.3 Microphone Status (to be used for camera control)
- applicable in stand-alone as well as PC-controlled mode
Camera control means that information about open microphones is used to control a
camera that captures the person talking. This can be done specifically using the Q
message, which is sent by the CU when a microphone is allocated to or de-allocated
from a stream.
The Q message contains the MU ID. The corresponding location-bound data can be
transferred to a camera. From this data it can be controlled in the following.
This use case is applicable in stand-alone as well as PC-controlled mode.
Please refer to chapter 4 for a detailed description of the used commands resp.
received messages.
Important Note
Information is permanently sent via the RS232 port. This refers to all protocol commands
and messages as well as other data not directly related to the protocol; these data can
be permanently monitored at the RS232 port. Thus it is possible that an external
controller actively controls the Quinta system via USB or Ethenet (and must be logged
in to the CU with the U 0 command), while a camera controller is connected to the RS
232 port which only listens to the control data without being actively connected to the
CU. This monitoring is only possible at the RS232 port and can only be implemented if no
controller actively controls via the RS232. A camera controller must ignore all other data
arriving at the RS232 port in addition to the required Q message.
