Overview

The S19 Pro Hydro Server is a high-performance mining server designed by Bitmain, part of their 19 hydro server series. It is specifically engineered for cryptocurrency mining, utilizing the SHA256 algorithm to mine Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). The server is designed for efficient operation in commercial mining environments, with a focus on liquid cooling for optimal thermal management.

Function Description:

The S19 Pro Hydro Server's primary function is to perform cryptographic calculations (hashing) for the SHA256 algorithm, contributing to the security and operation of blockchain networks like Bitcoin. It achieves this through multiple hash boards housed within a liquid-cooled enclosure. The server integrates with an external power supply, the APW11, which is also liquid-cooled, ensuring stable and efficient power delivery. The liquid cooling system, which requires connection to an ANTSPACE HK3 for optimal performance, allows for higher operational efficiency and potentially longer lifespan compared to air-cooled systems by maintaining lower operating temperatures. The server includes a control panel for monitoring and configuration, featuring indicators for normal operation and faults, an IP Report button, an Ethernet connector, an SD card slot, and a reset button.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: S19 Pro Hydro, 208-A

  • Storage Temperature: -20-70 °C
  • Operation Humidity (non-condensing): 10-90% RH
  • Operation Altitude: Recommended below 2000m

Usage Features:

  • Easy Setup: The server is pre-tested and configured for straightforward deployment.
  • IP Reporting: A dedicated IP Report button on the controller board allows for easy discovery of the server's IP address on the network, simplifying initial access and configuration.
  • Web-based Management Interface: The server features a web-based interface for comprehensive management, including:
    • Configuration: Users can set up to three mining pools with decreasing priority, allowing for failover to lower-priority pools if higher-priority ones go offline. Worker ID and password can also be configured.
    • Network Settings: Supports both DHCP (default) and static IP address assignment, along with configuration of subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server.
    • Monitoring: Provides detailed real-time operational status, including hashrate (GH/s), ASIC frequency, temperature of hash boards (Temp(PCB)) and chips (Temp(Chip)), and ASIC status (OK, error, or dead).
    • Firmware Management: Allows users to check the current firmware version and upgrade the system via a simple file upload.
    • Password Modification: Users can change the login password for enhanced security.
  • Liquid Cooling System: The integrated liquid cooling system is a key feature, designed to maintain optimal operating temperatures for the hash boards and power supply. This is crucial for performance and longevity, especially in high-density mining operations.
  • Environmental Requirements: Specific guidelines are provided for optimal environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, and water parameters, to ensure stable and efficient operation. The server is designed to operate within a narrow inlet water temperature range (20-40 °C) and will cease operation if the PCB temperature reaches 80°C or water temperature falls outside 20-65°C.
  • Surge Protection: Requires an external specific Surge Protection device complying with IEC/EN 61643-11 for electrical safety.
  • Disconnecting Device: The external power supply must have a disconnecting device capable of simultaneously disconnecting L1, L2, and L3.
  • ANTSPACE HK3 Compatibility: The S19 Pro Hydro server is designed to be used simultaneously with the ANTSPACE HK3, which is likely a crucial component of the overall liquid cooling infrastructure.

Maintenance Features:

  • Firmware Upgrade: The web interface facilitates easy firmware upgrades, allowing users to keep their server updated with the latest performance enhancements and security patches. It is critical to maintain power during this process to avoid damage.
  • Password Reset: Users can modify their login password through the administration tab.
  • Restoring Initial Settings: A physical reset button on the controller front panel allows users to restore the server to its default factory settings by holding it for 10 seconds. A red LED flash every 15 seconds indicates a successful reset.
  • Error Monitoring: The monitoring interface provides clear indications of ASIC status (O for OK, X for error, - for dead), helping users quickly identify and troubleshoot issues with individual chips or hash boards.
  • Environmental Guidelines: Detailed environmental requirements (temperature, humidity, corrosive gas limits, mechanical active substances) are provided to guide users in maintaining an optimal operating environment, which is crucial for the server's long-term reliability and performance. This includes specific limits for sand, suspended dust, deposited dust, and various corrosive gases (H2S, SO2, Cl2, NO2, HF, NH3, O3) to prevent environmental degradation.
