10.1 Deck Rails & Deck Hardware
The rail system and hardware ttings have been
selected and installed to perform specic func-
tions. Hand rails are installed to provide a hand-
hold in certain areas of the boat. You should make
sure you keep at least one hand on the handholds
as you move about the boat.
The bow and spring line cleats on your boat are
retractable and ush with the deck when not in
use. To use the cleats, pull up on the center of
the cleat until it locks in the mooring position.
Fenders or mooring lines should be secured to the
cleats and not to rails or stanchions. Be sure a
clear lead exists when running dock lines or anchor
lines. A line inadvertently run around a stanchion
or over the rail could cause damage.
Important:
All ttings must be periodically inspected
forlooset,wearordamage.Anyproblems
should be corrected immediately.
WARNING
BLACKFIN BOATS ARE NOT EQUIPPED WITH HARDWARE
DESIGNED FOR TOWING PURPOSES. THE MOORING
CLEATS ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR TOWING ANOTHER
VESSEL OR HAVING THIS BOAT TOWED.
10.2 Anchor & Rope Locker
The anchor rope locker is concealed in a recess
below a hatch in the deck. A gas charged spring
supports the hatch in the open position. A ush,
twist lock latch secures the hatch in the closed
position. The latch handle stores ush in the latch
in the open or latched position. There is a large
red dot in the handle that indicates that the latch
is in the open position and the hatch is not secure.
Always make sure the hatch is closed with the
latch in the secured position before operating the
boat above idle speed.
