Windlass
The windlass is mounted in the compartment be-
low the rope locker hatch in the deck. The anchor
is stored on the roller and is raised and lowered
by the windlass. The anchor line is stored in the
rope locker and routed out through the windlass
to the anchor chain.
The compartment is equipped with a faucet
plumbed to the fresh water system. After the an-
chor is hauled in and secured with the chain binder,
use the washdown hose to rinse the anchor, chain
and hardware. Make sure the Fresh Water Pump
switch is on before using the washdown hose.
The anchor is lowered by releasing the anchor
chain from the chain binder and moving the wind-
lass switch at the helm or in the compartment near
the windlass to “DOWN.” The windlass control
switches are protected by a circuit breaker in the
helm compartment breaker panel.
