The fan is rated for connection to 220-240 V / 50 Hz power mains and is designed for continuous operation. It operates at ambient temperatures from +1 °C up to +45 °C and does not require grounding. The protection degree index is IP 45 for Calm 100, Calm 125, Calm 150, and IP X5 for Calm Max 150 models, indicating protection against hazardous parts and water ingress. The fan is double insulated.

Usage Features

The Calm fan series offers various modifications with different control options:

  • Switch (S models): Integrated pull cord switch.
  • Timer (T models): Turn-on delay timer adjustable from 0 to 2 minutes (only Calm 150 and Calm Max 150 models) and turn-off delay timer adjustable from 2 to 30 minutes.
  • Humidity sensor (H models): Humidity control with a set point from 60% up to 90%.
  • Motion sensor (IR models): Reach distance from 1 to 4 m and sensor viewing angle up to 100°.

The fan does not cause interference with radio, TV, or video equipment.

Fan Speed Selection

The Calm 100 and Calm 125 models are single-speed fans. The Calm 150 and Calm Max 150 models are two-speed fans. For basic Calm 150 and Calm Max 150 models, as well as S modifications, the speed is set during connection to power mains. For 150 T/H/ST/SH/IR models, the speed is selected by setting the DIP-switch on the electric circuit board using the provided plastic screwdriver.

Operation Modes (for Calm 150 T/ST/IR and Calm Max 150 T/ST/IR models)

These models have three operation modes:

  • Mode 1 (single-speed mode): Fan is off by default. Starts at first speed upon sensor actuation or switch closing. (Default mode)
  • Mode 2 (two-speed mode): Fan is off by default. Starts at second speed upon sensor actuation or switch closing.
  • Mode 3 (two-speed mode): Fan runs at first speed by default. Switches to second speed upon sensor actuation or switch closing.

Operation Modes (for Calm 150 H/SH and Calm Max 150 H/SH models)

These models have five operation modes:

  • Mode 1 (single-speed mode): Fan is off by default. Starts at first speed upon sensor actuation or switch closing. (Default mode)
  • Mode 2 (two-speed mode): Fan is off by default. Starts at second speed upon sensor actuation or switch closing.
  • Mode 3 (two-speed mode): Fan runs at first speed by default. Switches to second speed upon sensor actuation or switch closing.
  • Mode 4 (two-speed mode): Fan is off by default. Starts at first speed upon switch closing and switches to second speed upon humidity sensor actuation.
  • Mode 5 (two-speed mode): Fan is off by default. Starts at first speed upon switch closing or humidity sensor actuation. If already running at first speed, switches to second speed if the switch is closed or humidity sensor is actuated.

Important: Do not set the DIP switch in any position other than those specified in the manual, as this may lead to an emergency mode indicated by a blinking light indicator. In such cases, disconnect the fan from power supply and reset the DIP-switch.

Fan Operation Logic

  • Turn-on delay timer: Activated for 0 to 2 minutes upon switch closing or sensor activation. During this time, the fan remains in the previous mode. After the countdown, if the switch is still closed or the sensor registers high humidity/motion, the fan switches to the first or second speed based on the selected mode.
  • Turn-off delay timer: Activated for 2 to 30 minutes upon switch opening, humidity drop below set point, or no motion registration. During this time, the fan remains in the previous mode. After the countdown, the fan switches off or to the first speed based on the selected mode.
  • Humidity sensor: If indoor humidity rises above the set point (60-90%), the fan turns on or switches to the second speed, respecting the turn-on delay timer. It operates at this speed until humidity drops to the set point, then the turn-off delay timer activates.
  • Motion sensor: Upon motion detection, the fan turns on or switches to the second speed, respecting the turn-on delay timer. It operates at this speed as long as motion is detected, then the turn-off delay timer activates.
  • Pull-cord switch or external switch (ST and SH models): Upon switch closing, the fan turns on or switches to the second speed, respecting the turn-on delay timer. Upon switch opening, the turn-off delay timer activates. The recommended turn-on delay timer setting for fans with a built-in switch is 0 minutes (factory setting).

Fan Operation Mode Indication

  • For Calm 100, Calm 125, Calm 150, Calm Max 150 basic, and S models, the light indicator glows yellow during operation.
  • For Calm 150 and Calm Max 150 T/ST/H/SH/IR models, the light indicators glow as follows:
    • No signal from sensors or switch: Green (5 seconds)
    • Humidity sensor or motion sensor is activated: Red
    • Turn-off delay timer is activated: Red (1 second) then Green
    • Turn-on delay timer is activated: Green (1 second)
    • Switch is closed: Green

Maintenance Features

All operations related to electrical connections, servicing, and repair must only be performed after disconnecting the fan from the power mains. These operations should be carried out by duly qualified electricians with valid electrical work permits.

Maintenance involves regular cleaning of the fan surfaces from dirt and dust. To clean the fan, wipe its surfaces with a cloth wetted in a mild soap solution, then wipe them dry. Avoid water dripping on the motor and circuit board.

Safety Rules

  • The fixed electrical wiring must include an automatic switch for connecting the fan to power mains, with a gap on all poles of at least 3 mm.
  • Ensure the impeller, casing, and grille are not damaged before connecting to power mains.
  • The casing internals must be free of foreign objects that could damage the impeller blades.
  • Misuse or unauthorized modification of the fan is not allowed.
  • Take steps to prevent smoke, carbon monoxide, and other combustion products from entering the room through open chimney flues or fire-protection devices.
  • Sufficient air supply must be provided for proper combustion and exhaust of gases through fuel-burning equipment to prevent backdrafting.
  • The maximum permitted pressure difference per living unit is 4 Pa.
  • The transported air must not contain dust, solid impurities, sticky substances, or fibrous materials.
  • The fan is not rated for operation in media containing hazardous or explosive materials and vapours (e.g., spirits, gasoline, insecticides).
  • Do not close or block the fan intake or exhaust vent to avoid disturbing natural air passage.
  • Do not sit on the fan or place objects on it.
  • Follow the operation manual guidelines to ensure durable product operation.

Manufacturer's Warranty

The fan complies with EU norms and directives, including Low Voltage Equipment, Electromagnetic Compatibility (2004/108/EC, 89/336/EEC, 2006/95/EC, 73/23/EEC) and CE-marking (93/68/EEC). The warranty operation period (service life) is five years from the retail sale date, provided installation and operation regulations are observed. In case of manufacturing faults during the warranty period, the consumer is entitled to fan replacement or warranty repair. For warranty claims, submit the operation manual with sales confirmation or payment document. If the sale date is not confirmed, the warranty term will be calculated from the manufacturing date.
