Keys
You receive one master key and
one spare key. If a key is lost,
please note the information on
the electronic immobilizer (EWS)
( 39).
Ignition key and steering lock,
tank filler cap lock and seat lock
are all operated with the same
key.
with OA Case and with OA
Topcase:
The cases and the Topcase can
also be ordered with locks for the
same key on request. Please
contact a specialized workshop
for this purpose, preferably
an authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer.
Switching on ignition
Turn key to position 1.
Parking lights and all function
circuits switched on.
Engine can be started.
Pre-ride check is performed.

with OE BMW Motorrad ABS:
Turn key to position 1.
In addition to the points named
above, the ABS self-diagnosis
is also carried out. ( 64)
Switching off ignition
Turn key to position 2.
Light switched off.
Handlebars not locked.
Key can be removed.
Electrically powered acces-
sories remain operational for
a limited period of time.
Battery can be recharged via
onboard socket.
