20 Keypad Installer menu
In addition to using RPS to configure and diagnose a system, you can also perform
programming and diagnostics using a keypad. Programming and diagnostics options appear on
the keypad when you access the Main menu (Installer) option, which includes the Installer
menu. The Main menu (Installer) option becomes available during normal control panel
operation only when you enter your installer passcode and press ENTER. The default Installer
passcode is 1-2-3.
The tools within the Installer menu are:
Program menu. Program several parameters to make your system operational, including
phone number and format, enhanced communication options, RPS parameters, users,
points, and keypad parameters. Refer to [1] Program menu, page 121 for more detailed
information on each programming option, and to RPS Help or the control panel’s Program
Entry Guide.
Wireless menu. Add, replace, remove, and diagnose points and repeaters. Refer to [2]
Wireless menu, page 153.
Diags menu. Diagnose points, repeaters, cellular service, IP cameras, and Cloud. Refer to
[3] Diags menu, page 158.
Service Bypass menu. View whether points are removed from service. Refer to [4] Serv
Byp (Service Bypass) menu, page 161.
Versions menu. View the version information for the control panel, encryption, and more.
Refer to [5] Versions menu, page 161.
Cloud menu. Enable Cloud connectivity for the control panel. Refer to [6] Cloud menu,
page 163.
USB Power menu. Turn the power to the USB port on or off. Refer to [7] USB Power, page
163.
Installer keypads and SERVICE MODE
The Installer menu is also available from the Service menu when in SERVICE MODE. The
Service menu is a subset of the Main menu (Installer) option. You can use Service mode at any
keypad, but the feature is most useful when you want to directly connect an Installer keypad
to the control panel for keypad programming at the control panel. Set the Installer keypad to
address 0, and then connect it to the control panel.
Use the control panel RESET button to enter SERVICE MODE. The rate of flashing of the
Heartbeat LED increases while in SERVICE MODE.
