Table 10 Solar circuit
Cylinder
WARNING:
Risk of scalding!
If DHW temperatures above 60 °C are set or thermal disinfection is
switched on, a mixer must be installed.

Solar yield/optimisation
The gross collector area, collector version and climate zone number
must be set correctly in order to achieve maximum energy savings and to
display the correct value for the solar yield.
The value of the solar yield, is a calculated yield estimate. Measured values
are displayed with the function heat meter (L) (Accessories WMZ).
Collector cooling
function
Yes: Collector array 1 is actively cooled via the connected
emergency cooler when 100 °C (= Max. collector temp. –
20 °C) is exceeded.
No: Collector cooling function switched off.
Menu item Adjustment range: Function description
Max. temp. cyl. 1 Off: 1st cylinder is not heated.
20 ... 60 ... 90 °C: If the temperature set here is exceeded
in cylinder 1, the solar pump is off.
Max. temp. cyl. 2 Off: 2nd cylinder is not heated.
20 ... 60 ... 90 °C: If the temperature set here is exceeded
in cylinder 2, the solar pump is off or the valve is closed
(subject to the selected function).
Max. pool temp. Off: The swimming pool is not heated.
20 ... 25 ... 90 °C: If the temperature set here is exceeded
in the swimming pool, the solar pump is off or the valve is
closed (subject to the selected function).
Max. temp. cyl. 3 Off: 3rd cylinder is not heated.
20 ... 60 ... 90 °C: If the temperature set here is exceeded
in cylinder 3, the solar pump is off, the pool pump is off, or
the valve is closed (subject to the selected function).
Priority cylinder Cylinder 1
Cylinder 2 (Pool)
Cylinder 3 (Pool)
The cylinder set up here is the high priority cylinder;
function Cylinder 2 with valve (B), Cylinder 2 with
pump (C) and Cylinder 3 with valve (N). The cylinders are
heated in the following order:
Priority cylinder 1: 1 – 2 or 1 – 2 – 3
Priority cylinder 2: 2 – 1 or 2 – 1 – 3
Priority cylinder 3: 3 – 1 – 2
Test interval
priority cyl.
15 ... 30 ... 120 min: If the low priority cylinder is
currently being heated, the solar pumps are switched off
at the regular intervals specified here.
Test duration
priority cyl.
5 ... 10 ... 30 min: While the solar pumps are switched off
( Test interval priority cyl.), the temperature in the
collector increases and the required temperature
differential for heating the high priority cylinder may be
reached during this period.
Elapsed time
valve cyl. 2
10 ... 120 ... 600 s: The elapsed time set here determines
how long it takes the 3-way valve to switch from cylinder 1
to cylinder 2, or vice versa.
Switch-on diff.
heat ex.
6 ... 20 K: If the differential set here between the cylinder
temperature and the temperature at the heat exchanger is
exceeded and all conditions for switching on have been
met, the cylinder primary pump is on.
Switch-off diff.
heat ex.
3 ... 17 K: If the differential between the cylinder
temperature and the temperature at the heat exchanger falls
below the value set here, the cylinder primary pump is off.
Frost prot. temp.
heat ex.
3 ... 5 ... 20 °C: If the temperature at the external heat
exchanger falls below the temperature set here, the
cylinder primary pump is on. This protects the heat
exchanger from damage from freezing.
Menu item Adjustment range: Function description
Menu item Adjustment range: Function description
Start diff. ctrl. heat
back.
6 ... 20 K: If the differential set here between the cylinder
temperature and heating return is exceeded and all
conditions for switching on have been met, the cylinder is
integrated in the heating return for central heating backup
via the 3-way valve.
End diff. ctrl. heat.
back.
3 ... 17 K: If the differential between the cylinder
temperature and the heating return falls below the value
set here, the cylinder is bypassed via the 3-way valve for
central heating backup.
Max. mixer temp.
CH
20 ... 60 ... 90 °C: The temperature set here is the
maximum temperature permitted in the heating return
when achieved via central heating backup.
Mixer elapsed time
CH
10 ... 120 ... 600 s: The elapsed time set here determines
how long it takes the 3-way valve or the 3-way mixer from
“cylinder to be fully integrated in heating return” on to
“bypass for the cylinder”, or vice versa.
Menu item Adjustment range: Function description

installed in collector array 1. The solar yield is only
displayed if an area > 0 m

is set.
Type collector

Flt-pl. col: Use of flat plate collectors in collector array 1
Vacuum tube collector: Use of vacuum tube collectors in
collector array 1

Flt-pl. col: Use of flat plate collectors in collector array 2
Vacuum tube collector: Use of vacuum tube collectors in
collector array 2:
Climate zone 1 ... 90 ... 255: Climate zone of the installation location
according to the map ( Fig. 43 at the end of the
document).
Search for the location of the system on the climate
zones map and set the climate zone number.
Min. DHW temp. Off: DHW reheating via the heat appliance irrespective of
the minimum DHW temperature
15 ... 45 ... 70 °C: The control system determines whether
solar yield is available and whether the stored amount of
heat is sufficient to supply DHW. The control system then
reduces the set DHW temperature to be produced by the
heat appliance in accordance with these two values. If
there is sufficient solar yield, there is therefore no need to
reheat the DHW with the heat appliance. If the
temperature set here is not reached, the DHW is reheated
by the heat appliance.
