Why does my Bosch VarioComfort I6 make a pumping sound?
    • H
      hendersonmonicaAug 21, 2025
The pumping sound occurs because water is being pumped into the steam tank. If the sound does not stop, do not use the steam station and contact an authorised technical service centre. Also, the steam release button may have been activated for too long or pressed too frequently; use the steam release button at intervals.

What to do if dirt comes out through the soleplate of my Bosch VarioComfort I6?
    • B
      Benjamin LesterAug 25, 2025
Dirt may come out through the soleplate due to a build-up of limescale or minerals in the boiler and iron. Carry out a cleaning cycle (see the “Descaling process" section). Also, it may be caused by chemical products or additives being used. Never add products to the water (see the “Filling the water tank” section). Clean the soleplate with a damp cloth.

    • C
      cbushAug 27, 2025

Why does my Bosch Iron begin to smoke when switched on?
    • K
      Kenneth SchneiderAug 30, 2025
When the iron is first used, certain components on the appliance have been lightly greased at the factory and may produce a small amount of smoke when initially heated. This is completely normal and will stop after a short while. During subsequent use, the soleplate may be soiled. Clean the soleplate according to the cleaning instructions in this manual.

Why does water flow through the holes on the soleplate of my Bosch VarioComfort I6 Iron?
    • J
      Justin BatesSep 2, 2025
Water may flow through the holes on the soleplate because the water is condensing inside the tubes, especially if steam is being used for the first time or has not been used for a long time. Point the iron away from the ironing area and press the steam release button until steam is produced.

What to do if the “Calc'nClean” indicator light (3) does not turn off on my Bosch VarioComfort I6?
    • A
      Andrew ParksSep 5, 2025

      uleSep 9, 2025
It is normal for the hose to get hot during use. It is caused by the steam passing through the hose during steam ironing. Place the hose on the opposite side so that you do not touch the hose during ironing.
