SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT READ CAREFULLY: It is important that all operators read and understand all sections of
this Tool Technical Data manual and the separate Safety and Operating Instruction Manual which come with
this tool. Failure to do so could result in you or others in the working area to be seriously injured.
WARNING! Eye protection in accordance with 89/686/EEC, and with equal or greater grade than defined in
EN166 should be used. However all aspects of operators work, environment and other type/s of machinery
being used, should also be considered when selecting any personal protection equipment. Note: Non-side
shielded spectacles and face shields alone do not provide adequate protection.
WARNING! To prevent accidental injuries:
● Never place a hand or any other part of the body in fastener discharge area of tool.
● Never point tool at yourself or anyone whether it contains fasteners or not.
● Never engage in horseplay.
● Never pull the trigger unless the nose is directed towards the work.
● Always handle the tool with care.
● This tool is intended to be used for stapling cardboard cartons and similar material. DO NOT USE for
fastening harder materials which could cause buckling of the staples and damage to the tool.
● To prevent accidental actuation and possible injury, always disconnect air supply.
1. Before making adjustments. 2. When servicing the tool. 3. When clearing a jam. 4. When tool is not in use.
5. When moving to a different work area, as accidental actuation may occur, possibly causing injury.
● Read the additional Safety & Operating instructions booklet before using tool.
● Do not use oxygen and combustible gases as an energy source for pneumatically operated tools.
● The operation of this tool can cause sparks and act as a source of ignition for flammable fuels and gases.
TOOL OPERATION
Pneumatic Models (D62ADC, RAB-19, RAB-22, DS-3219, DS-3519, DS-3522, DS-SW19, DS-SW22):
BOSTITCH OFFERS ONE TYPE OF OPERATION FOR THIS SERIES OF TOOL - TRIGGER OPERATED.
This is a trigger operated model cycled by actuation of the trigger.
Manual Models (MS-3219, MS-3519, MS-3522, MS-SW19, MS-SW22):
Manual tools are operated directly by the action of the lever. Use sufficient force to drive the staple & then
release. The jaws should then retract automatically.
TOOL OPERATION CHECK (D62ADC, RAB-19, RAB-22, DS-3219, DS-3519, DS-3522, DS-SW19, DS-SW22):
THESE TOOL WILL CYCLE EACH TIME THE TRIGGER IS PULLED! THIS IS A FULL CYCLE TOOL.
PULL THE TRIGGER, AND CLINCHERS WILL DISCHARGE AND RETRACT
CAUTION: Remove all fasteners from tool before performing tool operation check.
A. With finger off the trigger, hold the tool with a firm grip on the handle.
B. Place the nose of the tool against the work surface.
C. Pull the trigger or handle to drive.
LOADING THE TOOL - D62ADC, RAB-19, RAB-22
A. Open the magazine: Press cover slightly to unlatch from magazine and swing cover open (Fig 1).
B. Check Staple Leg Length: Adjustment is provided for different staple leg lengths (see section below).
For use with 15 & 19mm leg length staples, the tool must be adjusted as follows:
i. Disconnect the tool from the air supply.
ii. Loosen the four screws indicated (Fig. 2)
iii. With staples loaded, move the guides into the correct position. Without moving the guide, remove staples and
tighten the screws.
C. Load the Coil of Staples: Place coil of staples in magazine. Feed front end of coil into side and top guides.
