8 Important Information 8
8.1 First Startup 8.1
The BÖWE Customer Service department is responsible for carrying out the first startup.
Attention:
Before opening the switch panel or removing paneling,
set the main switch to “0”.
8.1.1 Preparatory Work
Set up the supply systems (electrical current, cooling water, compressed air, steam and condensate
lines).
8.1.2 Filling Machine With Solvent
(Gas displacement procedure is mandatory)

Use only stabilized, high-purity TETRACHLORETHENE (perc), in accordance with DIN 53978.
The amount of solvent needed is:
Machine P25 tank I: about 120 l (about 195 kg) or about 31.7 US gal (about 430.0 lb)
Machine P30 tank I: about 150 l (about 243 kg) or about 39.6 US gal (about 535.8 lb)
Total filling amount P25: about 600 l (about 972 kg) or about 158.4 US gal (about 2143.3 lb)
Total filling amount P30: about 600 l (about 972 kg) or about 158.4 US gal (about 2143.3 lb)
Attention:
Perc is a powerful fat solvent. Wear gloves when handling
perc and apply protective skin ointment to hands when done. Do not
smoke. If you get perc in your eyes, seek further medical care.
You must fill the pump with solvent before turning it on.
Check that the direction of rotation is correct.
