Why does my Briggs & Stratton GC1031 Controller not start the engine with a “Remote Start” command?

  If the Briggs & Stratton Controller does not start the engine even when a “Remote Start” command is sent, verify the wiring of the “Remote Start” signal to the controller's digital input terminal. Also, check the configuration for the “Remote Start” digital input terminal in “Configuration Mode”. Ensure that the controller is in “Auto Mode” and that “MAINS MONITORING” is disabled for 2-wire start.

  If the Briggs & Stratton Controller does not stop the engine even when a “Remote Stop” command is sent, check the wiring of the “Remote Stop” signal to the controller's digital input terminal. Also, verify the configuration for the “Remote Stop” digital input terminal in “Configuration Mode”. Ensure that the controller is in “Auto Mode”.
