What to do if my Brother S-7200C Sewing Machine is skipping stitches while sewing?
    • R
      Richard SmithAug 23, 2025
Skipped stitches can occur for several reasons. The needle tip might be bent or blunt, the needle may not be properly installed, or the machine might not be correctly threaded. The presser foot pressure could be too weak, or the needle might be too thin. Also, the presser foot could be too high, the thread take-up spring could be too weak, or the needle and rotary hook timing might be off. Replace the needle if it is bent or broken, install the needle correctly, and thread the machine correctly. Adjust the presser foot pressure, use a thicker needle, adjust the height of the presser foot, and adjust the tension of the thread take-up spring. Also, adjust the height of the needle bar and the clearance between the needle and the tip of the rotary hook.

Why is my Brother S-7200C Sewing Machine producing an uneven seam?
    • K
      Kurt VazquezAug 27, 2025
An uneven seam may be due to weak presser foot pressure, a feed dog that is too low, or a scratched bobbin. You can adjust the presser foot pressure and adjust the feed dog height. If the bobbin is damaged, smooth it or replace it.

How to fix skipped stitches at the start of sewing with my Brother Sewing Machine?
    • D
      davidjacobsonAug 29, 2025
Skipped stitches or thread unravelling at the start of sewing can occur if the thread take-up spring tension is too strong or its operating range is too large. It can also happen if the trailing lengths of the upper threads are too short after thread trimming, the threads are not being trimmed cleanly, the needle is too thick, the length of thread trailing out from the bobbin case after thread trimming is too short, the sewing speed is too fast, or the needle up stop position is too high. Reduce the tension of the thread take-up spring and lower its position. Adjust the pretension. Sharpen or replace the knives. Use a thinner needle. Replace the anti-spin spring in the bobbin case if the bobbin is spinning loosely. Use the slow start feature and adjust the needle up stop position.

Why is the lower thread tangled at the sewing start on my Brother S-7200C?
    • D
      Daniel CamposSep 4, 2025
Tangled lower thread at the sewing start can occur if the bobbin spinning direction is incorrect when the lower thread is being pulled, there is too much thread wound onto the bobbin, the anti-spin spring is not attached, the bobbin is not turning smoothly, or a bobbin other than the light-alloy bobbins specified by Brother is being used. Set the bobbin so that it turns in the opposite direction to the rotary hook. Ensure the bobbin winding amount is not more than 80 %. Attach the anti-spin spring. Replace the bobbin if it is not turning smoothly and use only bobbins which are specified by Brother.
