If you encounter problems when using your printer, try these solutions to resolve them.
Troubleshooting
Problem Solution
The print quality is poor. • Clean the Platen Roller and surrounding area, the Print Head, the
sides of the Roll Guides, and Label Support. For more
information, see the Routine Maintenance section in this
Addendum.
• Reduce the print speed or Energy Rank. For more information,
see the Print Speed and Print Density section in this
Addendum.
• If the print quality remains poor after trying the above solutions,
replace the Print Head.
The cutter is losing its
sharpness.
Replace the cutter.
My labels are getting
jammed.
• Clean the Platen Roller and surroundings area, the Print Head,
the sides of Roll Guides, and Label Support.
• The label roll is wound incorrectly.
Remove the label roll and replace it with a new one.
• If the labels continuously become jammed in the printer, the
Platen Roller may be worn and needs to be replaced.
My labels are wrinkled
after printing.
• Label wrinkles may occur if the roll adhesive adheres to the Roll
Guide. Adjust the position of the Roll Guides using the adjuster
dial, following the instruction in the Load the RD Roll section of
the User’s Guide for TD-4420DN or TD4550DNWB models
support.brother.com/manuals

• If the above solution does not solve the problem, replace the label
roll.
