5.5 Scheduled Maintenance
The BR3000 MLS has no required maintenance actions.
The following maintenance tasks are recommended to ensure that the BR3000 MLS
has not suffered deterioration or damage. These maintenance tasks shall be
incorporated into the operator’s airplane maintenance program.
5.5.1 Daily Check
1. During each operational day, ensure that each of the LCM units in the BR3000
MLS is illuminated. Make sure to note whether each of the individual LED
boards are illuminated. For example, a 35-Inch BC1-0230-001 LCM unit is
composed of 3 separate LED boards. An inspection mirror will not be necessary
to perform this observation. If an LCM unit is fully extinguished or there is any
noticeable degradation in the light output of an LCM unit, then the luminaire
should be replaced with a new unit.
It is possible that one LED Board assembly, or segment, in an LCM unit can
malfunction without completely turning off the LCM unit. In such a case, the
malfunctioning segment would be turned off. If any more segments in an LCM
unit malfunction however, the entire LCM unit will be turned off.
2. During each operational day, execute a Scenario selection from the MLCP unit
and verify that each of the LCM units in the applicable zone responds to the
Scenario command. The Test Scenario, which can only be executed while the
aircraft is on the ground, works very well for this purpose.
5.5.2 Tools and Equipment, Daily Check
No tools or special equipment is required to perform the daily check on the BR3000
MLS.
