5.8 BR3000 LRU CLEANING & INSPECTION

5.8.1 Cleaning Instructions
WARNING: THE RECOMMENDED CLEANING SOLVENTS ARE EITHER
FLAMMABLE OR CAN IRRITATE EYES AND NOSE. USE THE
SOLVENTS ONLY IN WELL VENTILATED AREAS AWAY FROM OPEN
FLAMES. SHOULD CONTACT WITH SKIN OR EYES OCCUR, FLUSH
THE AREA WITH WATER.
DO NOT SATURATE THE BR3000 MLS LRU ASSEMBLIES WITH
CLEANING SOLVENT. EXCESSIVE MOISTURE CAN POTENTIALLY
CAUSE DAMAGE TO ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLIES.
CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT SOLVENT CLEANING OF THE BR3000 MLS LRU
ASSEMBLIES WITHOUT FIRST REMOVING AIRCRAFT POWER FROM
THE SYSTEM. FAILURE TO REMOVE INPUT POWER FROM AN LRU
PRIOR TO SOLVENT ASSOCIATED CLEANING COULD RESULT IN
DAMAGE TO THE LRU AND PERSONAL INJURY.
1. Dust accumulation on the surface of the BR3000 MLS, LCM unit lens can be
removed by wiping with a clean, lint free cloth.
2. If necessary, the outer case and lens of the BR3000 LCM units and the MLCP unit
keypad can be cleaned with a commercially available cleaning solvent as listed in
Table 5. Wipe the area dry with a clean, lint free cloth. As noted above, this level of
cleaning should not be attempted unless power if first removed from the unit.
