Why won't my BUSCH Water Pump start?
    • G
      Gina JacksonAug 8, 2025
If your BUSCH Water Pump isn't starting, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the motor is receiving the correct voltage by checking the power supply. Also, verify that the motor starter overload settings are appropriately sized according to the motor nameplate data. A blown fuse could also be the culprit, so inspect and replace fuses as needed. Inadequate wiring can cause voltage drops, so confirm you're using the proper wire size. If the pump or motor seems seized, try manually turning them after removing the fan cover; if frozen, separate the motor from the pump to check each individually, contacting Busch service if the pump is frozen. Lastly, consider whether the motor or coupling (CPL) might be defective, and replace them if necessary.

How to troubleshoot low suction pressure in a BUSCH Water Pump?
    • B
      Brenda LopezAug 29, 2025
If your BUSCH Water Pump isn't reaching its usual suction pressure, several factors could be responsible. Contaminated oil can be a cause, so changing the oil is recommended. Leaks in the suction line can also reduce pressure, so check the piping for any leaks. A partially clogged inlet screen (IS) can restrict flow, so clean the inlet screen. Insufficient oil level can also impact performance, so top up the oil as needed. A dirty or clogged oil filter (OF) can also cause this, so change the oil and replace the oil filter. Also, the inlet filter cartridge (optional) could be partially clogged. In this case replace the inlet filter cartridge.

What to do if my BUSCH Water Pump starts but draws high current?
    • L
      Lynn WilsonNov 18, 2025
If your BUSCH Water Pump starts but struggles and draws excessive current, several issues could be responsible. It's possible the pump is running in the wrong direction; if so, swap any two motor leads. Check the oil level and ensure you're using the correct type of oil as specified in the Technical Data Table. Clogged exhaust filters, appearing burned with pump oil, can also cause this issue, so replace them and maintain proper oil condition using only Busch-recommended vacuum oil. Additionally, a loose connection in the motor terminal box could be preventing proper connection of all motor coils, leading to operation on only two phases; inspect the motor wiring diagram, especially for motors with six internal windings, and tighten or replace any loose connections. Finally, a foreign objec...
