ASSEMBLY
LUBRICATION
This tiller is shipped from the factory WITHOUT oil in the gearboxes and without
grease in the grease fittings. THE UNIT MUST BE SERVICED BEFORE PUTTING IN OP-
ERATION.
NOTE: Use GL5-85W 140 or Triple Zero Grease which can be poured and has an “EP” Ex-
treme Pressure Additives in the Gearboxes. Use TYPE/Grade II grease at all Grease Fittings.
TOP GEARBOX
1. Remove the vent plug on the top of the gearbox and the small inspection plug at the rear
of the gearbox.
2. Pour the gear oil into the vent plug hole slowly until the oil starts to come out of the small
hole at the rear. DO NOT OVER FILL THE GEARBOX!
3. Replaces the small Inspection Plug and the Vent Plug. Clean up any excess gear oil.

Remove Vent Plug to
install gear oil. Re-install vent
plug when oil is at proper
level.
SMALL INSPECTION PLUG
Remove and fill with gear oil until oil
comes out this hole and then place the
plug back into the hole
.
