OPERATION
OPERATION
13.1 Brake and Differential Lock Setting
Make sure the tractor brakes are in good operating
condition. Tractor brakes can be set to operate in-
dependently allowing single rear wheel braking ac-
tion or locked together to provide simultaneous
rear wheel braking. FOR MOST DRIVING AND
OPERATING CONDITIONS, THE BRAKE PED-
ALS SHOULD BE LOCKED TOGETHER TO
PROVIDE THE MOST EFFECTIVE BRAKING
ACTION.
Always disengage the tractor differential lock when
turning. When engaged the differential lock will
prevent or limit the tractor from turning. During nor-
mal cutting conditions, locking the differential pro-
vides no benefit and should not be used.
OPS U 0013
Be aware of the operating conditions. Do not operate the Tractor with weak or faulty
brakes. When operating down a hill or on wet or rain slick roads, the braking distance
increases; use extreme care and reduce your speed in these conditions. When op-
erating in traffic, always use the Tractor’s flashing warning lights and reduce your
speed. Be aware of traffic around you and watch out for the other guy.
If the tractor’s hydraulic pump is not independent of the
tractor PTO, or if the tractor PTO has to be run to have hy-
draulic power, disconnect the implement driveline from the
tractor PTO output shaft. Secure the driveline to the im-
plement deck to prevent driveline damage or loss during
transport. OPS-T-0012
