Power Supply & Anti-icing
The AOA system uses 28V DC from
the Left Main Extension bus for opera-
tion and anti-icing. If the AOA system
loses power or fails, the indicator
pointer deflects to the top of the scale
and stows at 1.0 on the indicator.
The vane/sensor is heated for anti-
icing with the PITOT & STATIC
switch ON (
see Figure 5B-5). An
indication of a vane/sensor heater
failure is the illumination of an
amber AOA HTR FAIL annunciator.

AOA high Red chevron illuminates/flashes
AOA slightly high; speed
decreases from reference
Green circle dims and red chevron
illuminates
AOA correct; speed is on
reference
Green circle illuminates
AOA is slightly low; speed
increase from reference
Green circle dims and yellow chevron
illuminates
AOA low Yellow chevron illuminates
