Figure 11 – S320 OCS Power Module (Version 2)
The S320 OCS chassis is equipped with four (4) power source inputs—two (2) on the front and
two (2) on the rear—to accommodate front or rear power module installation, depending on
customer preference. Power modules appropriate for the switch type (version 1 or version 2)
are initially installed at the factory in the customer-specified (front or rear) power source
inputs. Blank patch panels are placed over the unused inputs to protect the inside of the
switch from contamination by dust and other particulate matter. Figure 4 and Figure 5 show
a version 1 switch configured with front patch panels and rear power source inputs (populated
with power modules). Figure 6 and Figure 7 show a similarly configured version 2 switch.
The -48 VDC power modules are hot-swappable, field-replaceable, and use the same 3-pin
connector to interface with the S320 OCS. There is also an AC power supply option (Table 4),
external to the switch, that is used in conjunction with the -48 VDC module. The DC output of
the AC power supply has a nominal output of -48 VDC and only connects to the -48 VDC input
of the power module.
