Why is my Cameron Barton 199 Measuring Instruments showing a high indication?
    • H
      Hannah SimpsonAug 12, 2025
If your Cameron Measuring Instruments are showing a high indication, it could be due to a partially restricted or too small orifice; clean out or replace it. Another cause could be a leak in the LP side piping, so repair any leaks. Gas trapped in the LP housing (liquid service) or liquid trapped in the HP housing (gas service) can also cause this; vent the housing. If the LP housing gasket is leaking, replace it. A broken range spring or a tampered DPU might also be the cause, in which case you should return the BUA for repair. Repair or replace any loose links or movements, or calibrate the instrument if it's out of calibration.

What to do if Cameron Barton 199 show erratic indication?
    • K
      Kathleen HughesAug 22, 2025
If your Cameron Measuring Instruments are showing an erratic indication, it may be due to flow pulsation. Installing a dampening device upstream of the DPU run may help. Liquid trapped in gas piping or a gas bubble in liquid piping could also be the problem; remove it according to the Startup Procedure in Section 3. If the vapor generator is incorrectly installed, repipe it. If the reference leg is gassy or the liquid is vaporizing, refer to the piping instructions. Obstructions to the bellows travel can cause erratic readings, so clean the bellows. If gas is trapped in the DPU HP or LP housing, remove it according to the Startup Procedure in Section 3. Adjust or clean any dragging or dirty linkages, and adjust the pointer if it's dragging on the scale plate.

What to do if Cameron Barton 199 Measuring Instruments show low or no indication?
    • M
      Michael DukeNov 2, 2025
If your Cameron Measuring Instruments show low or no indication, it could be due to several reasons. The orifice might be installed backward or be oversized, in which case you should replace it. There might be a blockage upstream from the run, so clean out the run or open the valve. Another cause could be loss of liquid in the reference leg, so refill it. Density changes in the process media or reference leg can also cause this issue; refill the reference leg with the same density liquid as the process media. Also, check for plugged pressure tap holes and clean out the piping, or ensure the bypass valve is closed and not leaking. Clear any trapped liquids or gases by venting the piping, and make sure block or shut-off valves are open. Repair any piping leaks on the HP side. If the flapper ...
