3. Toner Bottle Counters
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C3800 Series machines also have a
Toner Bottle Counter that counts up after the machines recognize that a
new toner bottle has been inserted. The toner bottle is installed to provide
support for billing customers who order and consume a lot of toner. Toner
units that are shipped can be compared against toner bottles actually
installed in the machine.

Backed up three times
42 The counter is not advanced under these conditions after replacing the DC Controller PCB:
- The DC Controller was replaced when the power was OFF, and a new toner bottle was installed before the
power was turned ON.
- The DC Controller was replaced when the power was OFF, the power was turned back ON, and then a new
toner bottle was installed (old bottle was already removed or the front door was open).
