2.10.3 Data Security
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C5800 Series offers several ways to protect
and secure data. It is strongly recommended that a backup and security system
is in place, along with an antivirus protection system to make sure that no data
on the solid state drives are lost, stolen, or compromised.
There are several security methods available from Canon U.S.A., Inc. that
appropriately addresses a customer’s need for securing data. If a customer has
any data security concerns, please contact the dealer for more information.
1. Customer Accessible SSD Initialization Function (Initialize All Data/Settings)
2. imageRUNNER ADVANCE Trusted Platform Module
3. Optional Memory Mirroring Kit

4. Standard Universal Send Security Feature Set
5. Standard Encrypted Secure Print Software-D1
CAUTION
Canon U.S.A., Inc. is not liable for any damages resulting from the loss or
corruption of data. (See page 6 for further details.)
• Initialize All Data/Settings Function – The Initialize All Data/Settings function
is a standard function on all Canon devices. This setting is available in the
Management Mode, to which the system administrator must authenticate.
Performing this function, erases all user information on the solid state drive of
the machine (e.g., contact information, Advance Box and Mail Box data,
network settings, and image data).
IMPORTANT
The Initialize All Data/Settings function deletes the FAT (File Allocation Table)
and overwrites the target SSD data area with “0” (zeros) one time.
6 The Memory Mirroring feature requires two solid state drives. Either one additional 250 GB SSD-A1 to go with
the standard 250 GB SSD, or two 1 TB SSD-A1, which replaces the standard 250 GB SSD.
