0108/0208/0209 jam codes due to operation failure of the duplex merging flapper

Description
0108/0208/0209 Jam occurred when performing 2-sided copy or print.
- 0108: Duplex Merging Sesor Delay Jam
- 0208: Duplex Merging Sesor Stationary Jam
- 0209: Duplex Outlet Sesor Stationary Jam
Cause
Operation failure occurred in the merging section [c] of the duplex feeding path [a] and the pick-up feeding
path [b] from the left deck. This caused the flapper to block the duplex feeding path, which resulted in a jam
when performing 2-sided copy or print. The photo [A] shows the state of which the front cover is open, while
the photo [B] shows the fixing/duplex feeding assembly is removed.
Field Remedy
Check the mounting state of the link on the left deck merging solenoid (SL11) and the flapper. When the left
deck merging solenoid does not operate, prepare the left deck merging solenoid (FM4-0889-000) and
replace the part.
1) Open the front cover, and pull out the fixing/duplex feeding assembly.
2) Look at the duplexing assembly from the bottom to check the mounting position of the link [1] on the left
deck merging solenoid and the bushing [2] on the flapper. The photo [A] shows the correct mounting position,
while the photo [B] shows the incorrect mounting position. In a case of the photo [B], remove the spring [3]
and the screw [4], loosen the bushing [2], and then mount the part in the correct position as shown in the
photo [A].
