MAINTENANCE
Carvin’s F-Series amplifiers have free-flow ventilation and require no filter maintenance.
However, use caution to avoid spilling liquids or allowing any other foreign matter inside
the unit. As with all pro-audio gear, avoid prolonged use in caustic environments (i.e., on
the beach). When used in such an environment, please be sure the amplifier is adequately
protected by rack, covers, etc..
To clean the unit, always use a mild detergent and warm water solution applied to a soft
cloth. Never spray cleaning products directly on the unit.

It all starts with a massive, precision toroidal power transformer. This type of transformer

But that’s just the beginning. A specially designed cooling chamber funnels the air vol-
ume of an average sized refrigerator across the heatsinks every 20 seconds. The heatsink
size, shape and configuration are custom made and optimized with the help of computer
aided design. The height to width ratio pushes the envelope of aluminum extrusion tech-
nology. Our high fin count is the greatest in the industry but even more impressive are the
675 micro-fins which increase the heat transferring surface area of the sink by a phenome-
nal 52%! Staggered mounting of the power transistors distributes heat evenly across the
entire heatsink to eliminate hotspots.
Each model in Carvin’s F-Series has enough thermal headroom to dissipate more than
twice its power rating.
