The A100RC+ is a sophisticated radiocontroller designed to manage 12V RGB LED lights, specifically those from the BRiO® range, with an integrated 12V transformer. This device allows for remote control of color changes and various lighting animations, enhancing the ambiance of a pool or other illuminated spaces. It is capable of powering up to 100W of LED lights, which translates to, for example, two X30 lights or six X15 lights. The system operates by sending instructions from a radio-frequency remote control unit to the main controller, which then relays these commands to the connected lights. This communication method relies on combinations of power micro-drops, a patented solution that ensures simplicity, resilience to interference, and effective control over lights located several dozens of meters away.
The primary function of the A100RC+ is to provide remote control over the color and animation of compatible LED lights. It offers a wide array of lighting options, including 11 fixed colors and 7 pre-programmed sequences. The fixed colors range from classic white, blue, and green to more vibrant hues like lagoon blue, cyan, violet, magenta, pink, red, and orange. Additionally, there's a "User's favourite colour" option, allowing users to save a preferred color from an animation sequence. The animation modes include a "Slow rainbow" and "Fast rainbow" for gradual color transitions, a "Sequencing of 11 colours" for a predefined progression, "Psychedelic (flashing colours)" for dynamic effects, "Blue variations" (combining blue, white, and cyan), and "Random sequence of pre-defined colours" or "Random sequence of random colours" for unpredictable light shows.
The device's control interface features a two-digit multi-function display, three indicator lights, and three keys. The "Radio" indicator lights up when radio commands are received from the remote control. The "Lights" indicator is off when the lights are off, flashes when commands are sent to the lights, and is continuously on when the lights are active. The "Up / Plus" key increases a value or scrolls up through settings, while the "Down / Minus" key decreases a value or scrolls down. The "Confirm / OK" key is used to confirm the selection of a parameter, color, or color change sequence.
Upon powering on, the A100RC+ displays a sequence of information, including its software version, current radio code, current luminous intensity, and speed of color sequence, with all indicator lights and display segments flashing.
Operating the A100RC+ is designed to be intuitive, whether through the control box or the radio-frequency remote control.
Turning Lights On/Off: A simple press of the "Confirm / OK" key on the control box or the "On / Off" button on the remote control will toggle the lights. When turned back on, the lights will resume the last selected color or sequence.
Selecting Modes: To change the lighting mode, users can press the "Up / Plus" and "Down / Minus" keys on the control box to scroll through the available fixed colors and animation sequences. The selected mode will flash on the display, and pressing the "Confirm / OK" key confirms the choice. If the lights are off during mode selection, they will turn on automatically upon confirmation. The remote control also offers "Set / Program" and "Last and Next" keys for similar functionality. The "Set / Program" key switches between "set" and "sequence" modes. In "set" mode, pressing it starts the first animation sequence (A1). If an animation is running, pressing it switches the lighting to white (F0). The "Last and Next" keys are used to scroll through colors and sequences.
Adjusting Luminous Intensity: While the Bluetooth® application is recommended for ease of use, intensity can also be adjusted directly from the A100RC+ box. This involves cutting power, pressing and holding the "Up / Plus" key, turning the unit back on, and then releasing the key. The current intensity setting (L1, L2, L3, or L4) will be displayed, allowing adjustment with the "Up / Plus" and "Down / Minus" keys, followed by confirmation with the "Confirm / OK" key. This adjustment automatically sets the lights to blue (F1) for easier judgment.
Adjusting Animation Speed: Similar to intensity, animation speed can be adjusted from the control box, though the Bluetooth® application is preferred. The process involves cutting power, pressing and holding the "Down / Minus" key, turning the unit back on, and releasing the key. The current speed setting (d1, d2, or d3) will be displayed, adjustable with the "Up / Plus" and "Down / Minus" keys, and confirmed with the "Confirm / OK" key. This adjustment automatically sets the lights to psychedelic mode (A4) for easier judgment.
Saving a Favorite Color: In animation mode, particularly "Slow rainbow" (A1), users can save a preferred color by pressing the "pause key" on the remote control when that color is displayed. This color is then stored under "User's favourite colour" (FU) and can be recalled later.
Resetting Settings: A "Reset" mode is available to revert all settings to default. This deletes the favorite color, intensity settings, and sequencing speed, automatically setting the lights to blue (F1) and the A100RC+ display to F1.
Battery Replacement for Remote Control: The radio-frequency remote control is powered by a 12V 23A alkaline battery. To replace it, the device needs to be opened using a screwdriver, as illustrated in the manual. It is crucial to ensure the correct polarity when inserting the new battery, as indicated on the bottom of the device.
Changing the Radio Code: In environments where other radio devices might cause interference (e.g., a neighbor with a similar A100RC+), the radio code can be changed. This requires adjusting the code on both the A100RC+ control box and inside the remote control unit. For the control box, the procedure is similar to adjusting intensity or speed: cut power, press and hold the "Confirm / OK" key, turn the unit back on, and release the key. The current radio code (r1, r2, r3, or r4) will be displayed, allowing adjustment with the "Up / Plus" and "Down / Minus" keys, followed by confirmation.
To change the code on the remote control, the unit must be opened to access 10 internal switches located under the battery cover. The code displayed on the A100RC+ screen (r1, r2, r3, or r4) corresponds to the positions of switches n°5 and 6. A "0" corresponds to the "OFF" switch position, and a "1" corresponds to the "ON" switch position. The other switches must remain in their default positions. This allows for customization to prevent interference and ensure reliable operation.
