Why has my Central Pneumatic Sander output decreased?
- DDonald RiveraJul 31, 2025
Decreased output from the Central Pneumatic Sander can stem from several factors. Start by checking for loose connections and ensuring your air supply delivers sufficient airflow (CFM) at the required pressure (PSI), without exceeding the maximum air pressure. Also, ensure the trigger moves freely by cleaning around it. Insufficient lubrication can also cause this problem, so lubricate the tool with air tool oil as directed. Check and clean the air inlet screen if it's blocked. Tighten the housing if air leaks from it. If the issue persists, a qualified technician should clean and lubricate the mechanism, and you might need to install an in-line filter in your air supply. Finally, worn or damaged vanes can cause decreased output, requiring replacement as a set.
