What to do if my Central Pneumatic Air Compressor motor will not run?
- RRonald JohnsonJul 31, 2025
If the motor of your Central Pneumatic Air Compressor doesn't start, it could be due to several reasons. First, the air tank pressure might be exceeding the preset pressure switch limit; the motor will automatically start when the pressure drops below 85 PSI. Second, the motor overload protection might have tripped; replace the blown fuse or reset the circuit breaker, ensuring you use the correct rating (a 15 AMP Buss fuse is acceptable). Finally, avoid using an extension cord; instead, link additional air hoses and ensure the compressor is on a dedicated circuit. Bleed the line by moving the pressure switch lever to the OFF position before restarting.
