How to stop flare ups on my Char-Broil 463247512?
    • J
      Jonathan PattersonAug 17, 2025
Flare-ups on your Char-Broil Grill can occur due to a few reasons. First, grease buildup can cause flare-ups, so clean the burners and inside of the grill/firebox. Second, excessive fat in the meat can be a culprit; trim the fat before grilling. Finally, excessive cooking temperature might be the reason, adjust the temperature accordingly by lowering it.

What to do if my Char-Broil 463247512 Grill has a sudden drop in gas flow?
    • S
      Samuel PollardAug 20, 2025
A sudden drop in gas flow or low flame in your Char-Broil Grill could be due to several reasons: * You might be out of gas, so check the LP cylinder. * The excess flow valve may have tripped; turn off the knobs, wait 30 seconds, and light the grill. If flames are still low, turn off knobs and the LP cylinder valve, disconnect the regulator, reconnect it, leak-test, turn on the LP cylinder valve, wait 30 seconds, and then light the grill. * A vapor lock might have occurred at the coupling nut/LP cylinder connection; turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve, disconnect the coupling nut from the cylinder, reconnect it, and try again.

Why do the flames keep blowing out on my Char-Broil 463247512?
    • A
      Anthony HinesAug 22, 2025
If the flames on your Char-Broil Grill keep blowing out, it could be due to high or gusting winds; turn the front of the grill to face the wind or increase the flame height. Alternatively, you might be low on LP gas, so refill the LP cylinder. It's also possible that the excess flow valve has tripped; refer to the “Sudden drop in gas flow” section for guidance.

Why no sparks when I press the ignition button on my Char-Broil Grill?
    • J
      Jose BushAug 26, 2025
If no sparks appear at any electrodes when the Electronic Ignition Button is pressed and no noise can be heard from spark module on your Char-Broil Grill, it could be due to several reasons: * The battery might not be installed properly; install the battery, ensuring that the “+” and “–” connectors are oriented correctly, with the “+” end up and “–” end down. * The battery might be dead; replace it with a new alkaline battery. * The button assembly might not be installed properly; unscrew the button cap assembly and reinstall it, making sure the threads are aligned and engaged fully. * The spark module might be faulty; replace the spark module assembly.

Why are the sparks weak on my Char-Broil Grill?
    • W
      waynepowellAug 27, 2025
If sparks are present but not at all electrodes and/or not at full strength on your Char-Broil Grill, it could be due to several reasons: * Output lead connections might not be connected; remove and reconnect all output connections at the module and electrodes. * Arcing to the grill away from the burner(s) might be occurring; if possible, observe the grill in a dark location, operate the ignition system, and look for arcing between the output wires and the grill frame. * The battery might be weak; replace the battery with a new alkaline battery. * The electrodes might be wet; use a paper towel to remove moisture. * The electrodes might be cracked or broken, causing sparks at the crack; replace cracked or broken electrodes.

What to do if one burner doesn't light from others on Char-Broil 463247512?
    • R
      robertmuellerAug 30, 2025
If one burner does not light from other burners on your Char-Broil Grill, it's likely due to grease buildup or food particles in the end(s) of the carryover tube(s). Clean the carry-over tube(s) with a wire brush to resolve this.

How to handle a persistent grease fire in Char-Broil 463247512?
    • C
      Catherine Turner MDSep 1, 2025
If you have a persistent grease fire in your Char-Broil Grill, turn the knobs to OFF and turn off the gas at the LP cylinder. Leave the lid in position and let the fire burn out. After the grill cools, remove and clean all parts, as the grease might be trapped by food buildup around the burner system.

    • N
      Nicholas EricksonSep 6, 2025

    Why can't I fill my Char-Broil 463247512 LP cylinder?
    • J
      Jason ArmstrongSep 9, 2025
If you are unable to fill your LP cylinder, it might be because some dealers have older fill nozzles with worn threads. These worn nozzles might not have enough “bite” to engage the valve. Try a second LP dealer.
