Why is the flame so low on my Char-Broil Grill?
    • H
      Heidi PerkinsAug 19, 2025
A sudden drop in gas flow or low flame on your Char-Broil Grill can happen if you're out of gas, so check the LP cylinder. It could also be that the excess flow valve tripped. To fix this, turn off the knobs, wait 30 seconds, and light the grill. If flames are still low, turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve, disconnect the regulator, reconnect it, and leak-test. Then, turn on the LP cylinder valve, wait 30 seconds, and light the grill. Another cause can be vapor lock at the coupling nut/LP cylinder connection. To resolve this, turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve, disconnect the coupling nut from the cylinder, reconnect it, and try again.

What to do if flames blow out on Char-Broil 463247412?
    • C
      Christina LaneAug 21, 2025
If flames are blowing out on your Char-Broil Grill, it could be due to high or gusting winds; turn the front of the grill to face the wind or increase the flame height. Another cause is low LP gas, so refill the LP cylinder. Also, the excess flow valve might have tripped; in this case, refer to the troubleshooting steps for a sudden drop in gas flow.

Why no spark on my Char-Broil 463247412 Grill?
    • S
      Sandra GarnerAug 25, 2025
If no sparks appear at any electrodes when the Electronic Ignition Button is pressed on your Char-Broil Grill, and no noise can be heard from spark module, check the battery orientation. If that's not the issue, replace the battery with a new alkaline battery. Also, ensure the button assembly is installed properly by unscrewing the button cap assembly and reinstalling it, making sure the threads are aligned and engaged fully. If the problem persists, the spark module may be faulty and needs replacement.

Why can't I fill my Char-Broil 463247412 Grill LP cylinder?
    • C
      cevansAug 26, 2025
If you're unable to fill your LP cylinder for your Char-Broil Grill, it might be because some dealers have older fill nozzles with worn threads. Try a second LP dealer.

Why won't one burner light on my Char-Broil 463247412?
    • J
      Jennifer RuizAug 30, 2025
If one burner does not light from other burner(s) on your Char-Broil Grill, it could be due to grease buildup or food particles in the end(s) of the carryover tube(s). To resolve this, clean the carry-over tube(s) with a wire brush.

How to stop flare ups on my Char-Broil Grill?
    • K
      Kathryn BowenSep 2, 2025
Flare-ups on your Char-Broil Grill can be caused by grease buildup. To resolve this, clean the burners and the inside of the grill/firebox. Another cause can be excessive fat in the meat, so trim the fat before grilling. Also, excessive cooking temperature can cause flare-ups, so adjust the temperature accordingly by lowering it.

How to stop a grease fire in Char-Broil 463247412?
    • H
      Hannah MillsSep 4, 2025
A persistent grease fire in your Char-Broil Grill is usually caused by grease trapped by food buildup around the burner system. To resolve this, turn the knobs to OFF, turn the gas off at the LP cylinder, and leave the lid in position to let the fire burn out. After the grill cools, remove and clean all parts.

What causes flashback in Char-Broil 463247412 Grill burner tubes?
    • M
      Monique MortonSep 6, 2025
If you experience flashback (fire in burner tube(s)) with your Char-Broil Grill, it's likely because the burner and/or burner tubes are blocked. To fix this, turn the knobs to OFF and clean the burner and/or burner tubes. Refer to the burner cleaning section of the Use and Care guide for detailed instructions.

Why Char-Broil Grill timer doesn't work?
    • S
      Sarah ShermanSep 8, 2025
If the timer on your Char-Broil grill isn't working (the green light doesn't flash), it might be due to a dead battery, so replace the batteries. Another possibility is that the batteries are installed incorrectly; make sure to install them correctly. It's also possible that the knob position did not start the Clean Cycle; push the knob in to start the clean cycle. (The green LED should begin to flash).
