Why is my Char-Broil C-45D flaring up?
    • S
      Sandra OsborneAug 13, 2025
A flare-up on your Char-Broil Grill is often due to grease buildup. To resolve this, clean the burners and the inside of the grill/firebox. Another cause could be excessive fat in the meat. Trim the fat from the meat before grilling. Finally, excessive cooking temperature can cause flare-ups, so adjust the temperature accordingly by lowering it.

Why is the flame so low on my Char-Broil C-45D?
    • T
      Tiffany JacksonAug 17, 2025
If you experience a sudden drop in gas flow or low flame on your Char-Broil Grill, first check if the LP cylinder is out of gas. If not, the excess flow valve may have tripped. To reset it, turn off the knobs, wait 30 seconds, and then light the grill. If the flames are still low, turn off the knobs and the LP cylinder valve, disconnect the regulator, reconnect it, and perform a leak test. Then, turn on the LP cylinder valve, wait 30 seconds, and light the grill. Another potential cause is a vapor lock at the coupling nut/LP cylinder connection. To resolve this, turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve, disconnect the coupling nut from the cylinder, reconnect it, and try again.

What to do if flames blow out on Char-Broil C-45D?
    • M
      michael69Aug 20, 2025
If the flames blow out on your Char-Broil Grill, it could be due to high or gusting winds. Try turning the front of the grill to face the wind or increase the flame height. Another reason could be low LP gas, so refill the LP cylinder. Also, the excess flow valve may have tripped. In this case, refer to the troubleshooting steps for a sudden drop in gas flow.

What to do if Char-Broil C-45D Grill has no spark but noise?
    • R
      Randy JohnsonAug 26, 2025
If no sparks appear at any electrodes when the Electronic Ignition Button is pressed on your Char-Broil Grill, and you hear noise from the spark module, the output lead connections may not be connected. Remove and reconnect all output connections at the module and electrodes.
  • J
    Jennifer NixonAug 28, 2025
Why are sparks weak on my Char-Broil C-45D Grill?
    • T
      Thomas HarrisAug 28, 2025
If sparks are present but not at all electrodes or not at full strength on your Char-Broil Grill, start by checking the output lead connections and ensuring they are securely connected at the module and electrodes. If possible, observe the grill in a dark location to check for arcing between output wires and the grill frame. Also, a weak battery can cause this issue, so replace it with a new alkaline battery. If the electrodes are wet, use a paper towel to remove moisture. Finally, inspect the electrodes for cracks or breaks, and replace them if necessary.

How to clean carryover tube on Char-Broil C-45D?
    • S
      susan75Sep 1, 2025
If one burner does not light from other burners on your Char-Broil Grill, it could be due to grease buildup or food particles in the end(s) of the carryover tube(s). Clean the carry-over tube(s) with a wire brush to resolve this issue.

How to stop grease fire in Char-Broil Grill?
    • J
      Justin AndersonSep 5, 2025
A persistent grease fire on your Char-Broil Grill is likely caused by grease trapped by food buildup around the burner system. To address this, turn the knobs to OFF and turn off the gas at the LP cylinder. Leave the lid in position and let the fire burn out. After the grill cools, remove and clean all parts.

    • M
      Michael JacksonSep 8, 2025
