  If no sparks appear at any electrodes when the Electronic Ignition Button is pressed and no noise can be heard from the spark module on your Char-Broil Grill, ensure the battery is installed properly, making sure that '+' and '–' connectors are oriented correctly, with '+' on cap end. If the battery is dead, replace it with a new alkaline battery. Also, check if the button assembly is installed properly by unscrewing the button cap assembly and reinstalling it, making sure the threads are aligned and engaged fully. If none of these steps work, the spark module may be faulty and need replacement.

  Flare-ups on a Char-Broil Grill are often due to grease buildup. Clean the burners and the inside of the grill/firebox to resolve this. Also, excessive fat in the meat can cause flare-ups, so trim the fat before grilling. Finally, check that your cooking temperature isn't too high, and lower it if necessary.

Why does my Char-Broil Grill have low flame?

  If you experience a sudden drop in gas flow or low flame on your Char-Broil Grill, first check if your LP cylinder is out of gas. If not, the excess flow valve may have tripped. To reset it, turn off the knobs, wait 30 seconds, and light the grill. If the flames are still low, turn off the knobs and the LP cylinder valve, disconnect the regulator, reconnect it, perform a leak test, turn on the LP cylinder valve, wait 30 seconds, and then light the grill. A vapor lock at the coupling nut/LP cylinder connection could also be the cause. Turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve, disconnect the coupling nut from the cylinder, reconnect it, and try again.

  If the flames on your Char-Broil Grill blow out, it could be due to high or gusting winds. Try turning the front of the grill to face the wind or increase the flame height. Also, check if you are low on LP gas and refill the LP cylinder if needed. An excess flow valve tripped could also be the cause. Refer to 'Sudden drop in gas flow' to troubleshoot this.

How to stop a grease fire on Char-Broil Grill?

  If you have a persistent grease fire in your Char-Broil Grill, turn the knobs to the OFF position and turn off the gas at the LP cylinder. Leave the lid in position and let the fire burn out. After the grill cools, remove and clean all parts, especially if grease is trapped by food buildup around the burner system.

  If sparks are present but not at all electrodes and/or not at full strength on your Char-Broil Grill, remove and reconnect all output connections at the module and electrodes. If possible, observe the grill in a dark location to check for arcing between output wires and the grill frame. Replace the battery with a new alkaline battery if the battery is weak. Use a paper towel to remove moisture if the electrodes are wet. Replace cracked or broken electrodes if sparks occur at the crack.
