3. I nsert straight end of tire iron
into operating notch located at dou·
ble pimples "B" (fig. 74).
4. Pu sh side l"ing down at point
opposite operating notch and force
tire ir on handle down causing side
ring to disengage from rim gutter.
Repeat progressively around side
ring prying ring from rim g utt er
until free.
5. To free opposite tire bead from
wheel rim, turn tire over and repeat
mead loosening operation (fig. 75).
NOTE: It is not necessary to re ·
m ove side rin g from ti re bead if
lire is to be remov ed for tube repair
only. S imply loosen t ire bead from

Mounting the Tire
1. R emove all rust scale from
wheel rim a nd side ring.
2. In se rt tube in ti re and infl ate
until tube is nearly rounded out.
3. L ubricate tire beads, rim sides
of
tube and both sides of flap with a
solution of neutral vegeta ble soap
or Ru·G l yde or sGnilar ru bber lubri·
cant. Inse rt fl ap in tir e.
4. Place disc portion of wheelan
floor with rim gutter up an d insta ll
tire and tube assemb ly indexing
