Alternatively, the ink ribbon and paper might not be the recommended type; obtain matched ink and ribbon and adjust printer parameters accordingly. Also, check the heat level in the software and adjust it as necessary, as an incorrect head heat setting could be the cause. Finally, verify whether the printer is set for direct-thermal or thermal-transfer printing and change it as necessary, as an incorrect setting could be the reason.
What to do if my Citizen CLP 1001 has dropouts (light patches)?
If your Citizen Printer is producing dropouts (light patches), it could be due to a dirty print head or a dirty platen roller. Check the print head heat-generation body for dirt. If it's dirty, wipe the surface of the print head elements with the head cleaning pen provided. Also, check the platen roller for dirt or label or tape scraps stuck to it. Remove any obstructions if found, but if the dirt cannot be removed, contact our service personnel.
