CHARGERPOWERCONNECTIONFUSE
Thechargerreceptacleharnesshasanin-line,30-ampfuselocatednearthesolenoid.
CHARGERINTERLOCK
ExternalCharger:WhilethechargerDCcordispluggedintothevehicle,thevehiclecontrolcircuitislockedout,
preventingoperationofthevehicle,aswellasthepossibilityofconsequentdamagetothechargerandthevehicle.
OnboardCharger:WhilethechargerACcordispluggedintoanelectricaloutlet,thevehiclecontrolcircuitislocked
out,preventingoperationofthevehicle,aswellasthepossibilityofconsequentdamagetothechargerandthevehicle.
ACINPUTVOLTAGEDETECTION
Thehigh-frequencychargerautomaticallydetectstheACinputvoltageandwilloperateatfullpowerifthevoltageis
withinthe100to240VACrange.Thechargeralsowillfunctionoutsideofthatrangedownto85VACandupto270
VACalthoughchargingtimeswillbelonger.Outsideofthe85to270VACrange,thechargerwillnotoperate.
THERMALCUTBACK
Thechargeroperatesatfullpowerinambienttemperaturesbetween-40°F(-40°C)and104°F(40°C).Thecharger
alsowillfunctionoutsideofthatrangealthoughchargingtimeswillbelonger.
CHARGEINDICATORLIGHT
ExcelSystemvehicleswithERICChargingsystemfeatureadashmountedchargeindicatorlight(belowthesteering
column)thatservestwofunctions:1)Batterylowstateofchargewarning,and2)Chargingconrmation.Thecharge
indicatorlightiscontrolledbypin11ofthecontroller.
BatteryLowStateofChargeWarning
•Thelightcomesonandremainssolidwhenthebatterystateofchargefallsbelow20%.
•Thelightbeginsashingwhenthebatterystateofchargefallsbelow10%.
ChargingConrmation
•Thelightwillashthreetimesandthereversebuzzersimultaneouslywillsoundthreetimestoindicateabattery
