APPENDIX A
DEL AOP 50 Installation - Plumbing
The DEL AOP 50 works under vacuum. The injector in the DEL AOP 50
draws the ozone/air gas mixture from the ozone cells and mixes it into
the water leaving behind some un-dissolved gas bubbles. These bubbles
can aect certain pool system components, so care must be taken when
installing the DEL AOP 50.
The diagrams below cover common plumbing congurations. For other
congurations or installation questions, please call DEL Residential Pool &
Spa Technical Support at 1 (800) 676-1335, or email: o3info@delozone.com
1. PoolCleaners: (i.e. Polaris 360): Always plumb the cleaner t-tting
before the DEL AOP 50 to prevent gas from aecting the operation of
the cleaner.
2. SaltChlorinator: A Salt Chlorinator may be plumbed on either side of
the DEL AOP 50.
3. ChlorineTab/MineralErosionFeeder:Always plumb the DEL AOP
50 after any erosion feeder to avoid gas accumulating in the feeder.
4. In-FloorCleaningSystem: The DEL AOP 50 must be on a dierent
pool return leg than any In-Floor Cleaning system to avoid excess back
pressure on the DEL AOP 50. This will also prevent gas intrusion and
high oxidizer levels in zone valve and cleaner heads.
5. WaterFeatures: Avoid plumbing the DEL AOP 50 into any leg with
excessive back pressure such as those going to fountains, restrictive
wall ttings, etc.
6. DELAOP50: Back pressure on the DEL AOP 50 must be minimal.
