11. Motor cover
The plane is equipped with amotor cover which is triggered automatically and in that way stops theplane if
themotor overheats due to overloading. Themotor cover can only be reset by hand after themotor has cooled
down. Letit stand for 15–30 minutes. Themotor cover sits on one end near theemergency stop.
If you believe themotor cover has been released do as follows:
1. Press theemergency stop (P).
2. Raise thecutter and remove thematerial being planed.
3. Wait for 15–30 minutes until themotor has cooled down.
4. Press thereset button (Q).
5. Try starting themotoragain.
12. Tips for use
1. Read thewarning text carefully before using theplane.
2. Fasten theplane onto astable base at agood height.
3. Set desired planing height with thecrank and theextraction hose.
4. Plug into wall socket.
5. Press thegreen button (1) on thepower switch to start themotor.
6. Test-run theplane on apiece of board. Measure theresult and adjust according to requirement.
7. Use theroll support if thework material islong.
8. Turn theplane off: Press(0) thepower switch, press emergency stop and pull out theplug when
theoperation is finished.
9. Tidy theworkplace.
13. Care
Inspection and changing of carbon brushes
Attention! Presstheemergency stop and pull out theelectrical cable plug before inspecting thecarbon brushes.
• Regularly check thecarbon brushes and change them if thelength is below 5mm.
• Change thecarbon brushes inpairs.
• Keep thecarbon brushes clean and make sure they can move freely in thecarbon holder.
Cleaning
Always brush away dirt, shavings and foreign objects on feeding rollers and in ventilation holes and cables.
Makesure that oil or water does not get into themotor.
Greasing
Grease thefour spindles on theplaning table regularly with lubricant (WD 40, 556 etc.) to prevent them from
drying out.
