1.4 Safety instructions for charging and handling the battery
• Make sure that thesafety key is removed before connecting thebattery to themower.
• The mower’s battery must only be charged indoors using thesupplied charger.
• The charger is not to be exposed to rain or moisture. Doingso may increase therisk for electric shock.
• Only use thesupplied charger and battery. Usingacharger and battery that are incompatible poses afirerisk.
• Make sure that thecharger and its air vents are clean and unblocked.
• Check before every charge: Thatthecharger, its mains lead and plug are whole and damage-free. Donot
use thecharger if any defects are discovered. Donot attempt to repair thebattery charger yourself. Repairs
may only be carried out by aqualified service technician using original parts. Adamaged charger or its parts
poses arisk for electric shock.
• Do not use thecharger in environments where flammable/explosive gases, liquids or objects are present
(e.g. paper, fabric, etc.). Thecharger becomes warm during use and can therefore pose apotential fire hazard.
• The battery’s terminals must not be short-circuited. Makesure to keep all metal objects (e.g. nails, coins,
keys, etc.) away from thecharger when thebattery itself is not in thecharger. Shortcircuiting thebattery
terminals can cause burn injuries orfires.
• Do not try to dismantle thebattery. Doingso poses arisk for short-circuiting.
• Do not expose thebattery to heat, such as leaving it in direct sunlight or disposing of it in fire. Doingso
poses arisk for explosion.
• Mistreatment or adefective battery may cause gases to leak from thebattery. Alwaysensure adequate
ventilation. Thebattery fumes are irritating to therespiratory tract.
• The battery must not be exposed to moisture orwater.
• Store thebattery in anarea where thetemperature range is between 0–45 °C. Themower should never be
left in ahot, sun-exposed car.
