Note: EMF is the source voltage behind the output resistance (Rs) and is
independent of the signal generator loading. Many signal generators
are calibrated in PD (across the load) assuming a total load
resistance equal to the generator source resistance; for these, the
EMF is twice the attenuator scale reading.
