Locating the Password Jumper on the System Board
4. Reassemble and restart the computer. Your password is
disabled and cleared.
When you restart the computer, and the screen displays
the message: “system options not set,” you should verify
the system date and time.
To establish new power-on and Setup passwords, you must set
switch SW1, position 1, back to the OFF position, clear CMOS,
and go to F10 Setup. For detailed instructions, refer to the
section “Establishing a Power-On Password Using Computer
Setup” earlier in this chapter.
Clearing Power-On Password and the Setup Password
To clear both the power-on password and the setup password,
clear the CMOS. See Appendix I, “System Board Jumpers and
Switches,” for more information.
