Connecting to an
Ethernet Network
To connect to an Ethernet network, complete these steps:
1. Using the network cable appropriate for your network,
connect one end of the network cable to the main
network connection

the Ethernet AUI Connector.

The Ethernet AUI Connector connects the Ethernet
network using an AUI cable or an AUI to BNC
transceiver.
2. Or, if you are using an RJ-45 cable, connect to an Ethernet
RJ-45 Connector

on your computer.
3. Ensure that both connections are secure.

. Yellow light blinks when
linking to the network; green light blinks during network
activity.

Interpreting the
Network Status
Lights
The rear panel has two network status lights for the RJ-45
connector. The yellow link light will illuminate when the
network driver is properly loaded and the system is physically
connected to an active network.

During 10Mbs operation, the yellow link light indicates that
the system is receiving link pulses from the network.
