Preparing for Disassembly
To prepare the computer for the removal and replacement procedures, complete the following steps:
Remove any diskette, compact disc (CD), or Digital Versatile Disk (DVD) from the computer.1.
Turn off the computer and any peripheral devices that are connected to the computer.2.
CAUTION: Hold the power button for approximately four seconds or
use the shutdown command in Windows to turn off the system
before you disconnect any cables.
Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet then from the computer.3.
Disconnect all peripheral device cables from the computer.4.
IMPORTANT:
During disassembly, label each cable as you remove it. Be sure to note
the position and routing of each cable before removal.
